As California FFA prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2028, the California Association FFA announced the launch of Reconnect! — a statewide campaign inviting generations of FFA members, agricultural educators, alumni, parents and supporters to reconnect with the organization and the chapters that helped shape their lives.
The campaign aims to bring generations of the California FFA community back together, uncover local FFA history and build momentum toward a once-in-a-century celebration. Anyone with an FFA connection—from former members who once wore the iconic blue jacket to retired agricultural educators, FFA parents and longtime supporters—is invited to reconnect and be part of the centennial celebration.
“California FFA’s story isn’t just the story of an organization. It’s the story of generations of students, teachers, families and communities across our state,” said Jill Sperling, state supervisor of agricultural education and California state FFA advisor. “As we approach 100 years, we want to find the people behind that history, hear their stories and bring those generations back together. Reconnect! gives every chapter and every community a chance to be part of this milestone.”
A Statewide Challenge With a Local Connection
Reconnect! is also turning the Centennial countdown into a friendly statewide competition. Through March 2027, every eligible person age 18 or older who signs up at ffa100.org can select a California FFA chapter to support in the competition. That could be the chapter they belonged to as a student, their child’s chapter, a chapter in their current community or simply one that has special meaning to them.
Each valid sign-up earns one point for the selected chapter. Chapters will compete in divisions based on size, with top-performing chapters earning exclusive incentives and the opportunity to receive a cash award.
The challenge encourages local FFA chapters to search for former members and supporters, reconnect with people who helped shape their programs and explore their own histories as California FFA approaches its Centennial.

For communities across California, that could mean rediscovering decades of local stories—from former FFA members who went on to careers in agriculture to generations of families who participated in the same chapter, longtime agricultural educators who influenced students and community members whose support helped local programs thrive.
